Why Maxcraft Doors

Molded SDL Bars and Shadow Bars

  • Our doors come with the SDL Bars molded directly to the skin in the door, so there is no gap at the seam where the SDL bar meets the door skin. This increases the strenth of the door and also will not fall off over the years.
The Shadow bars nested behind the SDL bars give the door the appearance as if it were a True Divided Light Door, meaning that each panel would be a different pane of glass. Most other door manufacturers will use Applied SDL bars that if you look at from the right angle, you can see though the glass of the door. For more on this, read the TDL vs SDL Article. This is without a doubt one of the most aesthestically pleasing and easiest things to spot on our doors. On most of our models, our SDL bars are molded to the skin of the door, not stuck on with some double sided sticky tape so the distributor can maximize the number of door lite patters he can get off of one slab he stocks. • No Exposed Wood

Other manufacturers which use a wood door with a fiberglass skin leave one the most important parts of the door primed wood, the top side that you don't ever see unless you were to take the door off! If not painted within a certain manufacturers time frame, the warranty is automatically void, and it means that the wood of the door will rot, and eventually have to be replaced again.
Our products have the entire door skin matched up with a composite material on the "skinny" 4 sides of the door that will never rot. Also, out warranty does not dictate a time frame in which a door must be painted.

  • Engineered lumber - For Strength

Our doors use the same LVL beams, which is Laminated Veneer Lumber. This is made by adhering multiple layers of thin wood together to form a beam that is stronger than is stronger than steel in proportion to weight. This provides a heavier, stronger, and higher quality door slab that is built to last.

  • Ironmax Classic and all Retrofit 8/0 doors Reinforced with steel

Our Ironmax Classic Doors are built to withstand the heat, so we've reinforced the stile of the door with an extra peice of steel to prevent warpage. Most manufacturers will not warranty a door that has been painted a dark color, but here we can make them in dark colors that are built to withstand the heat without the issues of warpage.
